Lilibeth André - About the Artist

A representational and impressionist artist working to preserve culture and environment through art.
Lilibeth begins her artwork with a drawing or sketch, particularly when working with portraits and figures
"Some genres allow me more freedom to build the work as it evolves", she said, "but much thought goes into each piece before I begin to paint."
She uses water-soluble oils since 1999 to avoid the use of solvents. Her previous works also include acrylics, watercolor, and her technical training is evident in more controlled pieces using colored pencil. She also works landscapes, still life, and wildlife. She is always up for an art challenge as in her street painting projects or surrealistic pieces, and commissioned work.

"My images, whether dramatic or tranquil, are becoming more expressive. They continue to carry a lot of the force and color I use to ignite a striking appeal to emotion, with greater mastery of the craft and tools. In this piece, “Her Kimono”, I captured the play of light and shadow on the model to reflect the emanating power within her rising like an invisible aura from her center. I hope that you can feel it."
